reception

Reception

This is the first place you will see when you enter our clinic. It is designed to make you and your pet as comfortable as possible, and to ensure efficient service.

consult

Consult Room

No matter what type of pet you have (we see reptiles, birds, rodents, and of course cats and dogs) we will make them feel at home. These rooms are designed to make your pet feel comfortable. Once your pet is comfortable, we give them all the treats they can eat and if they’re nervous, our nurses are always happy to help cuddle them and distract them while the vet finishes the examination. The room is well ventilated and air conditioned, and of course, always clean.

surgery

Surgery

The surgery room is well-equipped with modern equipment for a large variety of surgeries. The most common surgeries at this clinic are desexing, eye surgeries, ear haematoma correction, lump removals, foreign body removals, and bladder stone removals. We also frequently perform orthopaedic surgeries including hip and knee procedures with great success.

dental

Dental

Dental procedures are normally done under general anaesthetic using all the same safety measures we employ for any other surgery. We have equipment for dental scaling and polishing, as well as for dental extractions.

lab

Laboratory

Our lab allows us to accurately and efficiently analyze blood and urine samples in house. In addition to several machines for automated analysis, we also perform microscopic analysis to visually analyze blood samples and cells to look for abnormalities.

endoscopy

Endoscopy

Our endoscopy machine is an innovative tool which allows us to see inside your pet without resorting to invasive and expensive surgery. It is useful for identifying gastrointestinal desease, oronasal and pharyngeal disorders, and is a fantastic tool for the removal of foreign bodies in the oesophagus and stomach.

digital-x-ray

Digital X-Ray

We have an x-ray machine and development equipment on site, so you get to see your pet’s x-ray results very quickly. This minimizes the stress for the patient, and allows us to easily obtain addition x-rays from different perspectives if needed to complete the picture.

grooming-services

Grooming

Parkinson vet is lucky to have a professional groomer come to the clinic twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. We offer grooming for both dogs and cats. Lisa, our groomer, has many years’ experience as well as being very talented. All dogs get free hydrobath and nail clip with the grooming.

All pets who come in for grooming must be up to date for their vaccinations. Our grooming service is open to anybody, we also welcome dogs and cats from surrounding suburbs including Parkinson, Calamvale, Algester, Stretton and Sunny bank Hills.

Since Lisa is very popular, booking at least fortnight in advance is recommended especially during the Spring and Summer months.

For more information, or to book an appointment, please call the clinic on 07 3711 7888 and we will be happy to help you.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasonography

Parkinson Veterinary Surgery uses the latest technology with the state of the art diagnostic ultrasound equipment to examine your pet.

Ultrasonography is a minimally invasive procedure which can be performed while your pet is awake. It is an invaluable tool used in veterinary medicine for ultrasound guided biopsy, detecting foreign body obstructions, diagnosing pregnancy as well as allowing us to obtain images of the internal organs including the heart, lungs, liver, spleen and gastrointestinal tract.

puppy-pre-school

Puppy Preschool

Parkinson vet is now offering puppy preschool classes.
Puppy preschool classes are designed to help your puppy to learn to socialise with other dogs and people. Dogs who do not socialise with other dogs early in life can become fearful or aggressive towards other dogs in the future. Puppy preschool combines socialisation and play with basic training and commands. Classes are taught by one of our qualified nurses and also cover healthcare such as nutrition, de-worming, desexing and vaccinations.
Puppy preschool is the best way to start your puppy off on the right track to becoming a happy, healthy, confident and sociable dog.
Classes are held at the clinic on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm-7.30pm. Classes fill up fast, so book in advance!
For more information or to book a spot, please phone us on 3711 7888.

Acupuncture

The veterinary acupuncture can be used as an alternative treatment option for many different diseases. It can be either used on its own or as an adjunct to western medicine. Most common conditions treated are musculo-skeletal conditions including arthritis, disc disease, paralysis and ligament injuries. Other conditions include seizure/epilepsy, allergies and respiratory problems. Acupuncture involves the piercing of skin with fine needles to stimulate acupuncture points.
